Count Andreas von Faber-Castell was born in Germany and educated in Switzerland at Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz, later attending business school in St. Gallen. He arrived in Australia in 1971 and decided to stay, initially starting a printing business with two partners – the SOS Printing Group – which would become one of the largest printing companies on the Eastern Seaboard. In July 1992 Count Andreas took over the active management of Faber-Castell Australia and Asia Pacific till his retirement in 2018.
