Destination Gold Coast: Top 5 places for the whole family to enjoy
The backdrop for The Family Business Conference – Asia Pacific 2022 is the Gold Coast, Australia!
Located in Australia’s Sunshine State, the Gold Coast is known as the Las Vegas of the Southern Hemisphere and is brimming with an eclectic mix of attractions and adventures for the whole family to enjoy.
Built for both pleasure and relaxation, this tourist town is your chance to relax, unwind and enjoy a couple of days of family fun in the sun!
We’ve created a list of our top 5 must-see places to visit during your stay on the Gold Coast, Australia. Why not bring the whole family and stay on for the weekend once the conference has wrapped up.

Sandy beaches
Boasting a 57km stretch of pristine white sandy beaches, the Gold Coast is home to some of the best beaches in the world! Learn how to surf, go for a swim, or simply go for a nice walk along the beach as you soak up the rays. Remember to always swim between the flags and slip, slop, slap!
Our best beach recommendations are:
- Surfers Paradise Beach
- Burleigh Heads
- Nobby’s Beach
- Rainbow Bay
- Broadbeach
Theme Parks
Tourist attractions are aplenty on the Gold Coast, but nothing can compare to the adrenaline rush you get at a theme park. The Gold Coast has an array of theme parks and each one is equally better than the other.
Spend a day with the family and get photos with superman, get up close with a tiger or plunge from 112 meters with the Giant Drop. Choose from Dreamworld, Movie World, Wet ‘n’ Wild, WhiteWater World or Sea World.

Mount Tambourine
Tambourine Mountain is one of Queensland’s secret treasures and for good reason. Located just 30 mins from the Gold Coast, the Tambourine Mountain is both an actual geographical phenomenon (the result of an outpouring of lava from Mount Warning) and also a collective term for several small villages stretching along the mountain range.
Explore the ‘green behind the gold’ as you experience the best nature trails and wildlife the Gold Coast has to offer. Venture into the depths of one of Australia’s largest Glow Worm Caves or sit back and relax with a wine in hand at one of the many wineries in the region: Our favourite is Witches Falls Winery.
Cavill Avenue
Have you even been to the Gold Coast if you haven’t strolled down the iconic Cavill Avenue? The pedestrian street mall is located in the heart of Surfers Paradise and offers visitors a true taste of life on the Gold Coast. Spend your time shopping in the arcades or marvel at the delightful curiosities at Ripley’s Believe it or Not. Finally, make your way down to the iconic Surfer’s Paradise sign and get a photo with the sign and the breath-taking view of the ocean at your doorstep.

SkyPoint Observation Deck
Discover Gold Coast’s best views in every direction!
Have you always wanted to visit the top of Australia’s Tallest Building? SkyPoint Observation Deck offers panoramic views of the Gold Coast, 270m above sea level, located atop the iconic Q1 building in Surfers Paradise. SkyPoint’s unique vantage point lets you take in the entire city skyline from one location so you can enjoy a delicious meal or a signature cocktail at Gold Coast’s highest Bistro+Bar, sitting 77 levels up!
If you are feeling a little more adventurous, conquer the SkyPoint Climb!
This is Australia’s highest external climb, starting on level 77 at SkyPoint Observation Deck. Following a Climb guide, participants will then walk up towards the eagles’ nest located at the highest point of the Climb at around 270 metres above the ground. Regular stops will be taken to admire the stunning 360-degree views of the Gold Coast region including the golden beaches, city skyline, and lush green hinterland.

We can’t wait to see you at The Family Business Conference – Asia Pacific from 9-11 March 2022 at the RACV Royal Pines Resort. With so much to see and do on the Gold Coast, extend your stay and come and play.
