David Valmorbida is currently the Executive Chairman for Corval Group, but prior to taking the reins of his family business had commenced an independent career.
David initially worked in the automotive sector, specifically on enterprise IT systems and long-range production and product strategies at DaimlerChrysler AG (Mercedes Car Group) in their headquarters in Germany.
David later worked at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), specialising in various areas of strategic planning, mergers/acquisitions, cultural transformation, and corporate governance across a breath of industries including aviation, financial services, automotive, FMCG, private equity, public sector, construction, logistics and mining, both in Australia as well as abroad.
In 2011, David took up the leadership of the next generation of the iconic family business, Corval Group, the parent company of Conga Foods, dc Specialty Coffee Roasters and Pakval Business Solutions. Its prime operation, Conga Foods, is one of Australia’s leading private, family-owned companies in the grocery industry working with major supermarkets and boutique delicatessens alike.
David’s prior experience as a management consultant has aided the operational and cultural transformation of the business, and including the re-focusing of investment priorities for the next generation owners which include his brother and four sisters.
Outside of work, David is a keen musician, has competed in water polo leagues in 4 countries and since 2008 has been a director of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.
